About LILA Liverpool
LILA Liverpool was established in Liverpool in 2004 as an independent English language academy. Founded by two sisters, Leanne Linacre and Victoria Lee. Leanne. It is a great place to learn English. It is an innovative language school situated in the cosmopolitan city of Liverpool. They boast contemporary learning facilities providing everything that a LILA student could possibly wish for: quality teaching, value for money, a wide range of courses, great location, personal service, and a comprehensive social aspect that will help shape your experience at LILA and in Liverpool. LILA provides a wide variety of courses that will suite your needs. They are also located in various locations adding more options to help you choose your convenient courses and study environment.
General English (Pre-sessional courses)
General English is a full time, 15 hour per week course that aims to give you confidence in communicating in an English-speaking environment. The course is taught in weekly modules focusing on the skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing whilst covering essential grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and common English phrases. General English is designed for students who wish to improve their ability to communicate in English while experiencing the vibrancy and excitement of Liverpool.
Exam Preparation courses are focused on the skills and techniques required to achieve your desired grade in your chosen examination. LILA offers Exam Preparation courses in IELTS and Cambridge exams (FCE and CAE) and can offer One to One tuition or Bespoke Group Courses for other exams including Trinity and Cambridge PET or KET.
Specialist English courses
English for special purposes, taught in country. A bespoke package course which can be tailored to your needs for aviation, oil and gas industries, banking and finance and business. They also have General English + Internship programme with a local business in Liverpool and a Short Academic Placement programme that includes classes at a local high school or college.
Evening & One to One Classes
Evening classes are ideal for students who want to learn English without committing to a full-time course. Part-time, twice weekly classes offer the perfect opportunity to enhance fluency and accuracy in reading, writing, listening, speaking, vocabulary and grammar. One to One classes pin point areas for improvement and provide opportunity to work on individual needs. Classes take place at the student's convenience, either at the academy, the student's home or workplace.
Business English courses
Business English is designed for those who want to improve their English in a business context or want to take a Cambridge BEC exam. The focus is on business skills and situations such as giving presentations, writing reports and emails, taking part in meetings, and making conversation.

Homestay is perfect for students who want to stay with local people and immerse themselves in the English culture. Students can be placed in a single or twin room and share the other living areas with the hosts who range from singles or couples to families and young professionals.
Residence - Shared Bathroom is for students who want to share with a varied mix of other LILA and non-LIL students and expand their social circle whilst in the UK. If you love your independence and meeting new people from different backgrounds then this option could be perfect for you.
Residence - En-suite Bathroom is a good quality option for students who want to socialise and make new friends whilst in the UK but value having their own privacy, too. It is high standard, modern accommodation with en-suite facilities, common areas and fully equipped kitchens.
Self-contained studio apartments for one or two students who would prefer to live independently in the city centre of Liverpool. The studios have their own mini-kitchen and bathroom and are within walking distance of LILA (10-15 minutes).
